NOTD: Essie Too Too Hot

I seriously love coral reds on my nails, especially at spring and summertime, and Essie is a brand that knows how to make a gorgeous coral red, they always release one with their spring and summer collections every year.
Too Too Hot is a straight cream coral red, it was released with Essie's 2011 summer collection, Braziliant.

Collective haul ( Sephora, MUFE, Bourjois, Essence, Seventeen)

After a small visit to Sephora and a department store this weekend, I hauled a few things, not much though. At Sephora I was trying to decide if I should get one of the new Dior Addict Extreme lipsticks, but unfortunately none of the colors really cought my eye, so I went for the new Make Up Forever Rouge Artist Natural lipsticks. Sephora here in Greece brings only a few of the shades, I think they were only 12 or 15, not sure. As you can see from my haul, I LOVE peachy/coral lipsticks and lipglosses!

Sooooo what I hauled:
  • Make Up Forever Rouge Artist Natural in N36 Corail Irisé
  • Bourjois Effet 3D lipgloss in 52 Corail Idyllic, from the Spring 2012 collection
  • Sephora I.T. Blending Brush
  • Sephora nail polish remover
  • Seventeen Super Shine polish 336, from the Spring 2012 collection
  • Essence XXXL Shine lipgloss in 18 Sparkling Papaya

I have to say that I love the glossy and simple packaging of MUFE's lipsticks, they're really practical comparable to YSL or Dior's lipsticks. And I find it kind of cool that the logo is all over the packaging, on every side of it.

The N36 is a coral shade, with some pink and orange in it, with fine shimmers. The texture is sheer and smooth, it's somehow in the same category with lipsticks like Dior Addict and Chanel Rouge Coco Shine,  but not as glossy as them , and it's quite pigmented for that type of lipstick.

The 2 lipglosses I got they look kind of similar but they're not. Texturewise the Essence is sheer and watery, with sparkles in it, Bourjois is not watery, creamier with tiny shimmers. Colorwise the Bourjois has more pink in , but on lips they both look similar.

The Sephora I.T. Blending Brush is a really big and fluffy brush, not the typical blening brush type like Mac 224 or 217, which i already own, but I wanted a bigger one for my lazy make up days, it's also a good brush for highlighting the brow bone. I love the Sephora I.T. brushes, I also have 2 others, they have a really good quality with cool design!

The Seventeen Super Shine #336 nail polish is from their new Spring collection, it's a bright light pink (if that makes any sense!!), it looks kind of neon but it's not. The pic unfortunately cannot pick up the brightness of the shade.

As for the Sephora Smooth nail polish remover, what can I say, it's a polish remover! It's very effective comparable to others that I've tried, and it doesn't leave my nails dry, BUT it smells awful!!! It's really powerful and I cannot stand it.

More than a Beauty tag

This is my first tag, I was tagged by the lovely sissi's place .   Sooooooo................

Fondest Childhood Memory?
It’s not one memory in particular, it’s more like a combination of childhood memories, mostly summertime ones, me playing with my friends all day at my neighborhood’s playground till the sun goes down, travelling with my parents, especially road trips, and many more!

Quirky Habit
I write every little thing that comes to my mind on Post-Its, lists with things to do or certain products I want to check out, or remember to do something like house stuff or not to drink coffee next day because my stomach is sensitive, you know silly everyday stuff. I do this mostly because I forget easily so I need reminders all the time.

Play Sports?
Nope, not a sports person here.

Favorite Book
Jane Austin’s Pride & Prejudice, corny I know! And Victoria Hislop’s The Island, I can’t tell you enough how much I love this book!

If you could invent something what would it be?
I’m not that imaginative as a person to think of something cool right now, but for my mum I’d like to find a cure for headaches that doesn’t include painkillers.

If you could own your own business what would it be?
I’ve always wanted a warm and cozy bookstore like the one Meg Ryan had in “You’ve Got Mail”.

Someone you admire(who doesn't know who you are)
I can’t think of anyone right now sorry.

A talent you wish you had
Definitely painting and drawing. I always admire a person who can paint because I really can’t.

Something you wish you'd know two years ago?
Not stressing out about getting my degree because it’s pretty much useless right now!

What do you do to feel centered/relaxed?
I  like to get up in the morning do some housework and then make some coffee and go sit around my computer watching Youtube videos or check out blogs or see a TV show that I like.

Who is someone that makes you feel loved?
My family, and it will always be my family no matter what!

The most interesting place you have been and why?
OK this question really hurts because I haven’t been anywhere special, I haven’t  even left the country sooooo no I won’t answer it!

3 books you can't wait to end
I only have one right now, The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simmons.

A cherished keepsake you will keep forever?
Certain things from my childhood, but I can’t remember anything specific right now.

Something you really want to see or do before you die?
Definetely travelling to certain European countries like Spain, Paris and London, and a special long trip to the US.

NOTD: Korres Pomegranate

I wanted to bring summer into my world today since it was a sunny day, I decided to paint my nails with a really pretty flamingo pink color, Korres Pomegranate. It has a creme finish and the color is vibrant enough, especially under the sunlight, without being neon.

Fall & Winter favourite nail polishes

As my first blog post I decided to show you what nail polishes I really enjoyed wearing this fall and winter, even though March and spring is already here, I can't stop loving vampy colors on my nails, I think they suit better with my skin color. My favourite color ranges are purples and dark reds, as you can see from the pictures! I wish I had a better camera, so I could show you the true colors, but mine washed out some of them, just a little bit though.

Purples

from left to right:  Misa Forbidden Lust, Mac WildFire, China Glaze Stella, China Glaze Let's Groove

Plums

from left to right:  OPI Yes...I Can-Can!,  Zoya Lael,  Essie Velvet Voyeur

Reds

from left to right:  Essie Tomboy No More,  Essie Lacy Not Racy,  Misa Love Bite

from left to right:  China Glaze Thunderbird,  OPI Wocka Wocka!, China Glaze Ruby Pumps

Miscellaneous

from left to right:  Seventeen Super Shine #509, Misa Dying Love, China Glaze Side-Saddle

I love them all, but Misa Love Bite and China Glaze Side Saddle have a special place in my heart, I always reach for them.

I also wanted to show you the 2 heroes in my nail routine, my HG base and top coat that I can't live without.

The base coat is Radiant Professional Vitamine Force Treatment for brittle nails, which seriously is a miracle worker, this is the second bottle I purchased within a year. It managed to strengthen my nails and I rarely notice any nail breakage anymore, I'm very prone to nail breakages and peeling and this treatment really helps with these.
The top coat I love for years now is Poshe Super Fast Drying top coat, I only use fast drying top coats because I'm lazy! I prefer Poshe than Seche Vite, mostly because it's not as thick as Seche Vite.

I hope you liked my first blog post!
