NOTD: OPI Cajun Shrimp

OPI Cajun Shrimp was the first coral nail polish I've purchased, and also my first OPI polish, back in 2006. At first I didn't like it, I thought it was too red for me because I wasn't used to wear bright colors, but since then a lot have changed, I cannot live without bright colors on my nails, especially at summertime.
The shade is a creme coral red, it applies like a dream on my nails because it has the old good OPI formula, with the big flat brush that OPI doesn't have anymore. And I have to say that even though it's a 6 year old  bottle the texture is still amazingly good, like brand new!

Do you have Cajun Shrimp? Do you like it? Let me know!

Small collective haul

Last week I did a small collective haul, mostly skincare. I had some bad skincare issues this past month, my skin broke out badly, it was itchy and peeling, it must have been the sunscreen I was using or the moisturizer, I'm not that sure but I decided to change both. So these are the things I got:

The Body Shop Mattifying Day Cream and Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream
La Roche Posay Anthelios AC SPF30
Erre Due Exclusive nail polish in #184
  Korres Lip Butter in Mango

The Body Shop's Vitamin E Intense cream is a moisturizer that is mostly targeted for people with dry or very dry skins, but in the past it has done wonders for my itchy skin even though I'm oily. I used to have a sample of this but now I decided to purchase the full size. I tried the Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream only twice but it's very mattifying, perfect for my oily skin on humid days. It has a gel consistency that feels very refreshing on the face, I only hope it won't break me out.

I was using the La Roche Posay Anthelios AC SPF30 2 years ago, before I changed to Korres Yoghurt SPF30 but since I think the Korres was the reason of my break out, I changed back to the La Roche Posay one. I just hope this one will work with no reactions, my skin is somehow weird, especially with sunscreens, I can use a suncreen for a year with no problems but the next year it may cause me break outs.

When I saw the new Erre Due nail polishes at the store, this shade caught my eye immediately! Unfortunately the camera cannot show how bright and neon the color is, but I did my best. It was the last bottle of #184 left at the counter so I had to get it. I love neons!
I wanted to buy the Korres Mango Lip Butter since last summer, but for some reason I didn't, so I think it was about time to purchase it. I love Korres lip butter's texture and in my opinion Mango is one of their best shades along with Jasmine. A soft coral pink perfect for summertime.

Have you tried any of these products? What was your latest haul? Let me know!

Summer Wishlist

I think it was about time to make my beauty summer wishlist! It was fun making it because I love summer, and the summer shades in general such as peaches, corals and bronze. Every year I have so many lemmings with all these make up limited edition collections!

So here's my list for summer:

1. A fresh summer fragrance is always a must have, and every year I'm lemming a different one. Last year it was  Escada, but this year I may go for one of the new Body Shop's limited edition fragrances. I love Body Shop's fragrances, Vanilla is my top favorite. This year they are launching the summer versions of three of their popular fragrances , Love etc... Sun Kiss, Dreams Unlimited Sun Fresh and White Musk Sun Glow.

2. A new mascara from Mac, Extended Play Lash , that is going to be released this summer. It claims to be 16 hour smudge-free , plus it's glossy black and volumizing. Definetely a must try.

3. Summer here is super hot, so I need an oil free foundation that will also be lightweight and have a good medium coverage and until now I haven't found one. When I saw that Clinique will release the Stay Matte Oil Free Make-Up, I knew it was going to be in my wishlist for summer. Can't wait to try it!

4. Mac's summer collection will be called Hey Sailor, with a limited edition packaging as they always do every year. I'm not lemming much from the collection but a peachy blush is a weakness of mine, it's called Launch Away!

5. Also from Mac's Hey Sailor collection, Jaunty eyeshadow, a light yellow beige. I'm sure it will look amazing all over the lids with some brown eye pencil and mascara.

6. Neon nail polishes!!! Awww how I love neons on my nails at summertime, and China Glaze is going to release a brand new collection with them. Last year I got Flip Flop Fantasy and I have to say that it's the best neon shade I've ever tried. From this year's collection I'm lemming Beach Cruiser (purple), Pink Plumeria (pink) and Flirty Tankini (peachy coral).

7. Even though I already have 2 bronzer brushes, I've always wanted a brush with the exact same rounded shape that Mac 167SH has. This brush is going to be relased with Mac's Hey Sailor collection this summer.

8. Bronzers bronzers bronzers! I can never have to many bronzers, I just love them all year round.  For a few years I'm lemming this Dior Matte Sunshine bronzer and this year I'm gonna to get it for sure!

9. Dior Vernis in Bikini. A very pretty, true peach cream nail polish from Dior's Croisette collection for this summer. I've never tried any Dior nail polishes, but I really wanna start with this one.

10. I love soft pink glosses for summer days and Dior Addict Ultra Gloss in Pink Croisette 464 looks exactly like the one I'm looking for.

11. Lastly from the same Croisette collection, the Dior Addict lipstick in Palace 354. In my opinion the Dior Addict lipsticks are one of the best high end lipsticks, along with YSL. I love their balm texture, you don't need lipgloss with those. The Palace 354 looks like a soft warm pink, perfect when you have a tan!

What are your lemmings for this summer?

And just a song from Late Night Alumni to put you in a summer mood!! It always reminds me of summer!

NOTD: Korres Lilac

I don't often use pastels, I don't think they look good with my skintone, but when I do it has to be special, like this one!

Korres released Lilac last year's spring with a bunch of other pastels too, and it's not a limited edition color, thank God! Like the name says it's a lilac color, a light warm purple with hints of pink. Something else that I noticed is that the texture is way better than the other Korres nail polishes that I've tried, and also thinner.

March Favorites

My first post about monthly favorites, and I seriously couldn't decide which products to include, since there are so many that I want to share with you, favorites from previous months too, but I'll do it in my next monthly favorites posts.

So these are only few of the products that I enjoyed using this month.

Face

First let's start with the 2 products that changed my whole foundation routine this month. Clinique Even Better foundation and  Sigma Flat Top F80 brush. Clinique Even Better foundation is not a new foundation of mine, I've had it for more than 2 years, but for some weird reason I didn't like it, I thought the texture was too thick and the color too pink for me. But when I decided to try using it again, this time with Sigma F80 brush,  I realised that all this time I was using it completely wrong, I was using too much that's why the color looked so pink on my face, you only need a bit and  the Sigma F80 does the whole job, because it applies the foundation evenly on my face. A perfect combo!
The color I'm using in Even Better is the 03 Ivory, I'm usually a NC25 at Mac's Studio Fix Fluid and NC20 at Pro Longwear, but both are too yellow for me.

Eyes

Too Faced Natural Eyeshadow Palette
I don't usually buy premade eyeshadow pallettes, I prefer to make my own, like Mac, because premade palettes always have a shade or two that I know I'll never use, but that's not the case with Too Faced Natural palette, all the shades are soooooo me!! I love neurals, it's what I always use (yeah I'm that boring!!) but I think they suit me best. The colors that I enjoy using the most from this palette are Heaven (browbone), Push Up (all over the lids) and Cocoa Puff  (outer half and crease)

L'oreal Lash Architect 4D Black Lacquer mascara
It's not my HG mascara but it's a decent one, very black, not clumpy, gives great definition, the fibres helps a bit with the volume. I'm using it for 3 months now and it didn't dried up yet, it's as good as new. One negative though ,it smudges after a few hours on my lower lashlines.

Seventeen Supersmooth Waterproof eyeliner #06
I love love love Seventeen's Supersmooth Waterproof eyeliners. Best eyepencils that I've tried for a long time, and I've tried lots of them. They're waterproof indeed, with great staying power, they're smooth and don't hurt my lashlines ( Are you hearing Mac?????)  The #06 is a dark matte brown with no red undertones, that they unfortunately discontinued, and I still haven't found a similar color from other brands.

Cheeks & Lips

Mac Fleurry Blush
One of Mac's best blushes EVER! But of course it had to be limited edition. Fleurry was released with Mac's Spring 2007 collection Strange Hybrid. It's the perfect peachy pink for NC20's and NC25s, and is a Frost. I don't usually like Mac's Frost blushes, but this one gives a really beautiful light sheen, that doesn't make you look like a discoball under sunlight.

YSL Rouge Pur Couture #06 Rouge Bergamasque
After a long search for the best "My Lips But Better" lipstick, YSL Pur Couture #06 won the battle. It's a light warm pink, not nude, with amazing texture, it's like you wear nothing on yous lips, and it's not drying at all. My favorite lipstick, that's all!

Bourjois Effet 3D gloss #05 Rose Hypothetic
In my opinion Bourjois has the best lipgloss texture, even from high end lipglosses like Dior,YSL and Chanel, a texture that is not too thick/sticky but also not watery. I only wish they had more colors. #05 Rose Hypothetic is a neutral pink, neither cool or warm, with silver shimmers, and it looks great on it's own or over any pink lipstick.

Skincare

Avene Cleanance Gel Cleanser
The cleanser that changed my life in my early teens. Not just a favorite of this month but a favorite for 14 years! It saved me from bad acne that I had since I was 6, and even though I'm still acne prone, my skin has completely cleared up. I can't reccomend it enough to anyone that has acne problems or just acne prone skin, or even just oily skin.

Nivea AquaSensation Day Cream
For years now, I'm searching for a moisturizer that won't break me out, 80% of the ones that I've tried broke moe out ( yeah I'm that acne prone), and if they didn't, they completely dried out my skin. I decided to try this moisturizer when they had it on sale for only 6 euros. Finally a moisturizer that doesn't break me out, or irritates my skin! It also helps with dry patches that I have from break outs. Sometimes it makes me a little oily but that's OK, because I mostly use it at nightime, at daytime I use sunscreen.

Korres Yoghurt Mask
The past few months I had some problems with irritations, itchyness and dryness on my skin, but still oily at the same time. This mask really helped with the itchyness and the dryness without being too heavy. It's also a good mask for summetime, after long hours under the sun. Yoghurt does magic for sun irritations.

Perfume

Chanel Chance Eau Tendre
I have this perfume for a year but I only like using it at springtime. Don't ask me to describe the scent because I'm really bad at describing scents, but I have to say that is really fresh and lightweight, with a hint of floral , I can't stand floral scents in general, they make me snizze all the time, but this one doesn't.

Sooo have you tried any of these products?? What were your favorites for this month? Let me know!
